Promoting Science and European Researchers’ Night at PulaTechConf 2026.

European Researchers’ Night and its importance in bringing science closer to the community were presented during PulaTechConf 2026, held at Juraj Dobrila University of Pula. As part of the presentation entitled Who Stands Behind Research?, Head of Department for Mobility, International Relations and Programmes, Ivona Peternel PhD, highlighted the importance of research management, the opportunities offered by the Horizon Europe programme, and initiatives aimed at bringing science closer to the public, among which European Researchers’ Night holds a special place.

The event aims to demonstrate that science is not limited to laboratories and academic institutions, but is present in our everyday lives and open to everyone who wishes to explore, ask questions, and discover the world around them. Juraj Dobrila University of Pula will once again open its doors to all science enthusiasts as part of European Researchers’ Night, which will take place this year on Friday, 25 September 2026. This international event brings research and researchers closer to the wider public, particularly children and young people, encouraging their curiosity, creativity, and interest in science.
The event will be held on the premises of the new university campus, on the ground floor of the former Naval Hospital building at 6 Negrijeva Street in Pula. The programme will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and participation in all activities will be free of charge.
Visitors can look forward to a diverse programme of interactive experiments, creative workshops, science quizzes, and educational games led by researchers, lecturers, and students from Juraj Dobrila University of Pula. Special attention will be given to the sea, biology, ecology, and the impact of climate change, as well as topics from physics, chemistry, and the social sciences and humanities. Our Department for

Mobility, International Relations and Programmes will also participate in the event. The youngest visitors will have the opportunity to take part in activities involving the exploration of marine organisms and various science-themed challenges.
